Vision chip design is a challenging task. One should consider issues from visual processing algorithms to low level circuit design problems, from phototransduction principles to high-level VLSI architectural issues, from mismatch and digital noise to "readout" techniques, from optics to electronics and optoelectronics, from pure analog to mixed analog/digital to pure digital design problems, from biologically inspired vision models to intuitive models to computational models, .........
This home page contains condensed information on more than fifty vision chips, designed in research laboratories all over the world. Novel and interesting features of each vision chip have been presented through colorful pictures and concise descriptions. Each chip has also been linked to the home page of its designer(s), and the original material available from WWW servers at some research labs.
There is also an introductory section on principles of the design of vision chips, which can serve as a simple tutorial for interested readers.
