Enjoying a prime spot on the banks of the River Elbe, the Internationales Congress Center Dresden is considered one of Europe’s most modern congress centres. Its various halls and rooms are spread over four levels. The ICC and the adjoining Maritim Hotel are situated close to the Marienbrücke (Mary’s Bridge) – forming an impressive contrast to the adjacent historical baroque buildings of the old town centre.

The Dinner Location

The conference dinner will be on Tuesday evening (9 July at 19:30) at The Westin Bellevue, Dresden. It is located vis-a-vis of the Congress Center across the river.
Please use this map with directions on how to get there (~15 min walk). The entrance to the dinner is at the rear of the building (towards the road) – exactly where the red marker is on the map.

The City

Dresden by Night

Dresden is undoubtledly one of the most beautiful cities in Germany. Severely destroyed during the war, the city centre today lives up to its old magnificence. Not only Dresden, but the close surroundings with the city of Meißen and its porcelain manufactory, the Moritzburg and Pillnitz castles and the Elbe Sandstone Mountains (also called Saxon Switzerland) are worth days and weeks of visiting.

The weather is moderate in Dresden. According to current forecast (as of 7 July), temperatures during the conference will be around 19 to 23 degrees Celsius, with a few scattered showers on Monday, and then mainly dry – best conference weather!
